Castle Garden in Eindhoven

Yes, we’re staying in Eindhoven for another freerun spot. A spot called ‘The Castle Garden’, which blends history with parkour in a unique setting. A beautiful scenery with many high walls to conquer, making it a ‘Castle’. Castle Garden is one of the most popular parkour parks in the Netherlands, that’s why dedicated a special blog to it.

The parkour spot is located at Kastelenplein Street. It used to be a (wheelchair) entry that led to a sauna, but nowadays this spot has become an abandoned terrain. A while back this spot was discovered by Bart van der Linden. The parkour park consists of walls, platforms, bars, and roofs. The combination of these elements creates a spot for freerunners with many possibilities and challenges.

Johnny spot in Amsterdam

This legendary spot is extremely well-known in the Amsterdam parkour community. The parkour spot really doesn’t have that many special obstacles of some sort. But still this spot is one of the most popular Amsterdam spots in CityLegends. All because this parkour spot is raw, and has a great vibe while freerunning.

The spot is located in the middle of Amsterdam next to a great mural of a punk kid Johnny Rotten (aka Johnny Lindon, member of the band Sex Pistols). Giving the spot an extra urban feel. You can also check out Johnny spot in CityLegends, and even own it by uploading a clip.

I Am Amsterdam

From the remnants of the iconic "I am Amsterdam" letters, a new freerun spot has emerged. This spot has become the largest outdoor parkour area in Amsterdam and has gained tremendous popularity within the urban sports community. Not only do tourists appreciate the spot for its association with the famous letters, but it’s also loved by parkour enthusiasts.

The city of Amsterdam cleverly repurposed the letters, creating a park that not only provides a unique parkour experience but also addresses the challenge of finding suitable parkour spots. It's a great example, to use existing ‘city materials’ into a parkour spot.

NDSM In Amsterdam

The area surrounding the harbor may not seem like the ideal parkour location, but this industrial terrain defies expectations. Unlike typical parkour parks, it wasn't designed for freerunning. However, this is what makes it all the more exciting. The spot is a celebration of urban culture, expressed in countless ways. It's privately owned by artists and used for exhibitions and urban events.

This spot offers mor than a hangout. It has old industrial obstacles that can be used for tricking. The whole area emphasizes urban culture and creativity. A must-visit for parkour and freerunning fans!

Ps. Unfortunately this spot hasn’t been mapped yet in CityLegends, could you do it?

Low wall spot at City Walls in Maastricht

We’re going to the other side of the Netherlands. Maastricht! With a beautiful parkour spot, next to the city river ‘De Maas’. It has various low walls, and wall runs up to a medieval city tower. Which you possibly also could climb? Hint ;-).

Besides freerunning, you can also chill at this spot and meet local freerunners. And it’s a bit too hot, possibly take a quick dive into the water. Yet, be careful.
