CASTLE GARDEN IN EINDHOVEN

Yes, we’re staying in Eindhoven for another freerun spot. A spot called ‘The Castle Garden’, which blends history with parkour in a unique setting. A beautiful scenery with many high walls to conquer, making it a ‘Castle’. Castle Garden is one of the most popular parkour parks in the Netherlands, that’s why dedicated a special blog to it. [Ni3]

The parkour spot is located at Kastelenplein Street. It used to be a (wheelchair) entry that led to a sauna, but nowadays this spot has become an abandoned terrain. A while back this spot was discovered by Bart van der Linden. The parkour park consists of walls, platforms, bars, and roofs. The combination of these elements creates a spot for freerunners with many possibilities and challenges.

I AM AMSTERDAM

From the remnants of the iconic "I am Amsterdam" letters, a new freerun spot has emerged. This spot has become the largest outdoor parkour area in Amsterdam and has gained tremendous popularity within the urban sports community. Not only do tourists appreciate the spot for its association with the famous letters, but it’s also loved by parkour enthusiasts.

The city of Amsterdam cleverly repurposed the letters, creating a park that not only provides a unique parkour experience but also addresses the challenge of finding suitable parkour spots. It's a great example, to use existing ‘city materials’ into a parkour spot.

You can find the parkour park in CityLegends with the name “IAMPARK”, and using the following link:

It's privately owned by artists and used for exhibitions and urban events.
